The Best Gift

I have already received the best Christmas gift, my Christmas miracle, more time. But when I got to chemo, I received a red and white Christmas stocking filled with another gift that was the best. A lady who had just finished her treatment and her children made the stockings for all the current patients. Inside, and the first thing I opened, was a handmade card from a child, Daniel. It reads: We are happy for you. Happy Holidays. We hope you win. Keep on going. Do not quit. Be persistent. Goooooo and win! Daniel drew a picture for me too. This card means so much coming from a boy who doesn’t know me but knows cancer well by having to watch his mom go through it. And now he can celebrate Christmas with his mom who is done with chemo!

This week, I didn’t have too many side effects from Chemo at all. I had a good week. I am filled with holiday spirit. I am living life and loving living life for the next few months just living. I am grateful to be able to spend the holidays without worry and anxiety over my scan results and the future. I am so grateful for a Christmas miracle. And I know that I can’t take it for granted and that I need to give back, just like the lady who gave us Christmas stockings today at Chemo. ‘‘Tis the season. Merry Christmas, everyone! Will update again next Friday and after spending Christmas with my sister, my dad, my husband and my kids. Can’t wait! 🎁🎄🎅🏻
