The Clean Products I Love and Use
I am here at chemo this morning, and it’s a beautiful, sunny day out, and the chairs are all angled toward the windows! Yay! I’m in a better mindset than the last time I wrote, so I am feeling grateful and thankful for my chemo and immunotherapy that keeps on working. 🙏 I’m thankful for the refuel today. I don’t have much to update on since I just wrote. Feeling great and doing great!
I really believe one of the several reasons I am doing so great is because I have gotten away from as many chemicals and “toxic” ingredients as I can in the products I use. So, today, as promised, I am going to write about the products I use for those wanting to get rid of the chemicals and potentially harmful ingredients in their products — whether you’re a fellow cancer patient or you’re looking to be preventive or just healthier. I have always been a believer in using all natural ingredients in my cooking and in anything I put on my body. I’ve tried a lot of products out there, and these are some of my favorites. I’m not sure if using chemical-free products truly can prevent cancer or it’s more myth, but I just believe they’re good for you in any case.
I’ll start out telling you that I use a lot of Beautycounter. I know it is pricey, but it’s the company I trust the most in removing the most toxins from their products. www.beautycounter.com
I believe the fewer toxins, the better, so just start with one product. I have tried practically all of Beautycounter’s products, and these are my favorites below! I’ve used their products for years, and on top of being toxin free, they are really hydrating and feel great on the skin.
Hand soap — Beautycounter (I think this is pricey, but it lasts a long time, a little goes a long way, and it comes in a beautiful, large bottle that makes great décor, too😊.)
(I also love Native https://www.nativecos.com/?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=omg&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIts_srOGH-QIVPvDjBx0HtQWwEAAYASAAEgI24vD_BwE
and Explore Naturals https://explorenaturals.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIofSzvuGH-QIV1cfICh1lMAAiEAAYAiAAEgJG1_D_BwE and think they last longer than Lume, but I am REALLY sensitive to even the sensitive formulas of natural deodorants, and Lume is the only one I can use without breaking into a rash.)
Facial Cleansing Balm — Beautycounter (This is really pricey, but, again, a little goes a long way. It also doubles as a leave-on mask that feels absolutely wonderful and is super hydrating. If you want a cheaper facial cleanser, I like all of Beautycounter’s.)
Facial Lotion — any of Beautycounter’s. I use Countermatch Adaptive Lotion. It’s silky, smooth, hydrating, and it feels really good when it’s on — light and moisturizing.)
Hand Lotion — Beautycounter’s Melting Hand Balm
Body Lotion — Beautycounter (Honestly, good price and nothing special about this, but it is hydrating and toxin free — woo hoo!)
Foundation — Beautycounter’s Skin Twin
Eye Shadow: Beautycounter
Cheeks: Beautycounter’s Illuminating Cream Highlighters
Mascara: Beautycounter
Hairspray/Gel — I use Nature’s Brand https://www.naturesbrands.com/collections/organic-hair-sprays hairspray and gel, and I really like Andalou Naturals’ Hairspray https://andalou.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-ND46eGH-QIVYxtlCh3CLQgJEAAYASAAEgIY_PD_BwE

TummyDrops — If you have nausea, these are THE BEST. A friend gave them to me, and I love them because they work! I’m not a fan of ginger, so the pear flavor is my favorite. https://www.amazon.com/Tummydrops-Resealable-Individually-Certified-Gluten-Free/dp/B01N0PV8D4/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3VTZSTP7DJEVE&keywords=tummy+drops+sweet+ginger+pear&qid=1658330462&sprefix=Tummy+droos%2Caps%2C149&sr=8-1

Well, these are the products I use. I hope I’ve at least inspired you to try some product — one of these or something else!
The nurse came over to tell me it’s my month for Zometa, so I am receiving that right now. 😫😫😫 Wish me luck over the next couple days! I really don’t like Zometa!! It feels just like the reaction you get to the Covid shot and boosters if you react to them like I do. Oh, well, hopefully, it is worth it if it’ll help my bones in the long run. I’ll try to remember that when I am down for the count tomorrow, but I have to admit, I am not too good about not being able to do things I want to be doing. Oh, I am going to a Wellness House event next week at the yacht club, a breakfast with John Edward Heath, who will speak about how to lead and thrive in a time of fear. I’m thinking he’ll be so inspirational and can show me how to maintain a positive attitude when you lose the ability to do things you used to be able to do or want to do.
Well, I will sign off for now! I’ll write again from chemo in two weeks, and I might blog to journal if I get taken down from this Zometa in the next few days. It will also give me something to do from the couch! 😫😫😫
Stay safe and healthy, everyone!
